BRIEF BIO

Born in Los Angeles in 1946 though mostly raised in Chicago and New York City. Classes were taken at the Children’s Art Workshops of the Chicago Art Institute and Museum of Modern Art. A BFA and MFA were earned from the University of Cincinnati. Numerous solo exhibitions include the New Museum of Contemporary Art/NYC, Irish Museum of Modern Art/Dublin, Center for Contemporary Arts/Santa Fe, Bartlett School of Architecture/UCLondon, Phoenix Art Museum, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, and Arizona State University Art Museum. Group shows include Artists Space/NYC, Franklin Furnace/NYC, Art Basil/Miami, San Paulo Biennale/Brazil, Los Angeles Center for Digital Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver, Museum of Photographic Arts/San Diego, Museum of Contemporary Art/New Orleans, Tucson Museum of Art, and the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History. The Irish MoMA and American Academy in Rome (2) allowed for three extensive artist residencies. The work culminated with a solo exhibition at the Irish MoMa and the AAR work with a photo case of 40 images permanently residing in their Photographic Archives. Current gallery representation is with Filter Gallery/Chicago. The most recent showings of work, other than six group exhibitions with the Filter Gallery, was in the ARIZONA BIENNIAL 2020 at the Tucson Art Museum, Praxis Gallery/Minneapolis, Perspective Gallery/Evanston IL, Millepiani Gallery/Rome, and Durden and Ray Gallery/Los Angeles. The Durden and Ray Gallery group exhibition title was “For the Public Record: Art in the Age of Mass Surveillance”. Lastly, a traveling group exhibition commemorating Arizona ACLU’s 60th anniversary was titled: “In This Together”.
